My Top 10 Dream List

As a content creator there are always those things that you really want to make. yes they may be out of reach for now, but why can't you at list make a wishlist? A goal of which to strive for. That is exactly what I have done on www.adorama.com and below I am going  to give you my top ten on my wish list. These are all items that I strive to earn enough extra income to purchase for my content creating.

1. Nikon D5 Dslr $6496.95

This is in my mind the best Dslr that has ever been made. Yes I shoot Nikon, so that would explain why I chose that particular body, but for what I do it also makes the most sense. If you wanted to be the best carpenter, wouldn't you want the best hammer to do the job?

2. Nikon 400mm f/2.8 $11,196.95

When you want the best glass possible, you don't settle for anything less than prime lenses and this is an absolute beast of a piece of glass. In my mind, a must have for more than just sports.

3. Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 $1696.95

If you shoot any nature or large group photos this is the perfect lens. I have rented and used this lens on more than one occasion and just fallen in love with it. This is also the must have for any photographer doing real estate photography.

4. Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 $1896.95

There are two lenses as a photographer that you absolutely must have in my mind. That is a Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 and a Nikon 70-200 f/2.8. While I actually own both these lenses, I actually own the much older version of the 70-200 f/2.8 and feel that I have to upgrade.

5. PocketWizard Plus III $135.00 Each

I can't even begin to tell you how many of these I want. I could have ten and want more. Use then to remote trigger flashes or remote camera bodies. Another must have for those shooting either off camera flash or those with remote mounted bodies.

6. Think Tank Airport Security V2.0, Carry On Roller Bag for Photo Gear $414.75

Big bags, I absolutely love them. I am the type of photographer that wants to take everything because I don't ever want to be somewhere and not have what I need. There is no reason not to have multiple bags for things too. Everything from a one camera one lens walk around bag to a bag that can hold everything you need.

7.  Manfrotto MT190CXPRO3 Carbon Fiber 3-Section Tripod - Bundle with Manfrotto MHXPRO-BHQ2 XPRO Ball Head w/QR $503.78

How many of you have a tripod? I don't mean the one from Wal Mart, I mean a real tripod. Let me tell ya, I have an old Bogen 3021 that my dad bought brand new back in the day. It's a work horse and heavy as can be. I don't think I will ever buy any other tripod but Manfrotto. They are simply the best that you can get and they will last forever. My Bogen has is an all metal one and has been in the ocean, lakes, streams, dust, sand, dirt, etc and still works like a charm.

8. Canon PIXMA PRO-10 Professional Photo Inkjet Printer - Bundle - with PGI-72 10 Color Pack $799.00.

I  know that some my think, why would you need a printer? The fact is that I use AdoramaPix for 99% of my prints. I would love to have something at home that I could do prints to hang in the office or give to clients on site. I do a lot of 20x30 and 24x36 but I don't have interest in having an onsite printer to do that.

9. Westcott 48" Rapid Box Octa XXL for AlienBees and Balcar $299.90 Each

I love to play with lighting and Westcott makes the best softboxes and umbrellas on the planet. I would have two or three of these just to get the best lighting possible.

10. AlienBees™ B800 Flash Unit $279.95 Each

This is the only thing on my list that isn't available through Adorama and that's ok because this company is only a couple hours from me. My wish list would contain at least 5-6 of these along with Vagabond Batteries for when I am on location. This is a must have for me.

I hope this list makes you think about what you strive to own in your career. These are all items that I will own at some point. Whether I get them new or used. These are all must haves for me. And always make sure to buy from a reputable company. I personally use Adorama because their service and prices are great. So now that you've seen my list...what's on yours?
